What are the things that you personally can do right now to attract the consults you’re looking for? You know the phrase actions speak louder than words? That’s extremely true in client attraction.
The right actions and the right thoughts will literally increase your revenue. Here are 5 steps to identify how to attract high value clients and then invite them for consults with you.
5 Steps to Control Your Client Attraction Mindset
Step 1 – Identify two specific actions that support you. In order to attract potential high value clients, you want to build an accounting firm which supports you instead of one that drains you. This way it’s sustainable.
What are two things that enable you to serve your clients and potential clients? Some of these actions may be professional, like organizing your calendar or building referral relationships. While others are personal, including a set exercise schedule, meditation or time with friends. Either way, build these actions into your routine. Whatever the case may be, identify two actions and then consistently do them!
Step 2 – Identify two thoughts that support you. Maybe you don’t think that what goes on in your mind will have an effect on how well you attract your clients, but you’d be wrong. In order to attract others to your firm, you need thoughts which support you and your business. Some reinforcing thoughts reference how you’re helping others or how your growing firm fulfills your purpose.
Thoughts that reinforce your purpose and why you deserve to grow a successful firm will enable you to better serve your clients. What are two thoughts which motivate you and get you excited about what you’re doing? Identify two specific thoughts which strengthen your client attraction mindset.
Step 3 – Identify two specific actions that interfere with attracting high value clients. Just like it’s important to identify actions that support your efforts and your firm’s growth, it’s equally if not more important, to identify actions that interfere with attracting high value clients. Maybe you developed some destructive habits that bring you down. These habits then bleed over into your ability to attract clients.
Think of two actions that don’t serve you, your accounting firm or your clients. Now when I’m working closely with accounting professionals, we remove those obstacles. So what can you do to eliminate those distractions?
Step 4 – Identify two thoughts that interfere with attracting high value clients. It’s amazing how often we allow our thoughts to turn negative and interfere with our success. You can identify what thoughts might be interfering with your firm’s growth.
Begin by identifying what you’re most worried about when it comes to the future of your firm. Thoughts like I can’t really do this. I’m a fraud or customer service is really getting me down can actually limit your potential. Instead, start thinking I am as capable as anyone else and I deserve to do this or the opportunity to serve customers is going to help me realize my dream.
Step 5 – Eliminate the fluff. Now that you’ve identified which thoughts and actions serve and hinder you – it’s time to let go of the fluff. Stop beating around the bush. Don’t entertain ideas or carry out actions which interfere with your client attraction mindset.
If you can’t change a specific action or thought, you need to find out what needs to happen to let those things go. It’s because success happens from the inside out. If your business is going to be successful at attracting high value clients, you don’t have time for negative thoughts and actions that don’t serve you.
One quick note, these steps aren’t one and done. Instead it’s an ongoing process. Be mindful about your thoughts and actions so they remain in alignment. Ongoing adjustments help you to evolve. Once you’re aware of what you’re thinking and doing, the process becomes easier.
If you’re still not convinced, think about how productive you are when you’re in a bad mood – usually, not very. Do your friends and family want to be around you when you’re negative or do they avoid you? You may not be negative toward your prospective clients. People, however, can sense when thoughts and actions aren’t in-line with your brand messaging and they’ll avoid you.
